Head into the hills! Get away from the overly-built-up conurbation on the coast and discover real Spain. A visit to a non-touristy pueblo blanco is the best way to discover real Spanish life. Casares and Gaucín are great for a wander - hilltop villages that carry on at a languid pace, despite the buzz on the coast below. Ronda is also worth a visit. Make sure you stock up on tortas de aceite - olive oil biscuits flavoured with a hint of aniseed and sugar. Delicious.
