I've been at a restaurant "La Alpujarra" (http://www.la-alpujarra.com/). Great food, (especially the seafood stuff, I can recommend)) at reasonable prices, also good wines. They also have an english menu card.

Depends on the budget, if you can afford to expense your company 50-100 euro I suggest these places:

Viridiana (in Juan de Mena, 14)- french cuisine with Spanish spirit Casa Nemesio (in Castellana, 260) - great shell fish and sea-related food. Try the "coquinas", "Centollo", and the "Arroz a Banda" (rice). They used to have "Bacalao al PilPil" on thursdays (codfish cooked basque stile)

Sorry but Viridiana it's not french cuisine. It´s modern spanish cuisine. Don't think as Michelin, please!

Next to the Church of San Ginés, just off c/Arenal, you will find a favourite haunt of many Madrileños – Chocolatería San Ginés. This place serves thick cups of chocolate with churros (long sticks of fried dough) in a white-marbled bar. It has been around for well over a hundred years and is still popular with people of all age groups. It is busy in the early evening and absolutely packed from 4 o'clock onwards, after a night out on the tiles!

Great "cañas" and "copas del vino". Lucho makes great tapas. Night crowd is local to Chamberí neighborhood. Close to NH hotels in the area.

Generally gets 4/5 stars. Staff is efficient. Lobby, bar, patio are good. NH chain has a great loyalty program with euro-points on smart card that can use to pay bill. Location is in Chamberí business district but with 3 near-by metro stops. If you explore back streets you can find the Ahorra Mas grocery and many good restaurants, tapas bars.

I work in Madrid and visit La Bola every few weeks. It is a personal favourite. Traditional Spanish food and I mean, Spanish. My friend from Barcelona had no clue what some of the stuff was.

A strong recommendation. Very old restaurant. Smallish with a great atmosphere. Interesting food of above average standard. Don't accept cards so take cash.
