The "Calle de las Bruselas" at the Plaza de la Merced offers nice homemade variations of tapas every day - at amazing prices. Salads and Sandwiches are available as well.

If you want to feel the real Málaga you can't go without eating some "pescaíto", which is some different kind of fried fish! The most popular place in Málaga for that is "La Campana" which is located in Calle Granada. It's small and old fashion but you won't regret to eat there.
