    Barrio Húmedo

If your want fun, good typical restaurants, tapas, beers, and night life make sure you don't miss the "Barrio Húmedo" (literally Wet Suburb). Close to the Cathedral, and made of a couple of squares (Plaza Mayor and Plaza San Martín) and a few streets, you will find plenty of bars, restaurants and pubs (the spanish version), where to have bear and tapas, have a nice meal or drink (and dance) the whole night. By the way, tapas are for free in León (provided you have "caña" of beer or a wine).

This tip has the address "Plaza San Martín, Plaza Mayor"

    Patatas Ali-Oli en El Burgo

I recommend having a spanish vermouth which is usually accompanied by an outstanding plate of Ali-oli potatoes.

This tip has the address "calle Burgo Nuevo"

Any place in Barrio Húmedo (wet 'hood!...) you know, it's full of tiny bars where you can have a corto* starting at 0,80€ (i think the most expensive is about 1,20€). With each drink (wine, beer, grape-juice, coke, etc) you get a tapa (actually pretty big) for free. You can have dinner going to 5 places (what should be something like 5 euros all dinner).

*corto = 1/2 caña = 1/4 pint... what means... corto = 125 ml of beer aprox.
