Drink cider in a traditional Sidrería

You must try the local cider from a traditional cider house. You buy a bottle of still cider, which the barman will raise above his head pour and pour a shot into a glass held at waist height; the liquid is naturally 'carbonated' by pouring it this way. You must then take the glass and quickly down the shot in one go, before throwing the dregs into a gutter on the tiled floor. A really different way to drink!

There is a big number of establishments all over Gijón that offer a variety of meals to suit all tastes and prices. That’s why you will be able to choose those which are located in the centre of Gijón, near the beach of San Lorenzo, or those which are in the outskirts, where you will be able to enjoy a beautiful sight of the city.
