Gasthaus Isarthor - nice people, great atmosphere & good food

Was recommended to my by a photographer friend, whom hangs out there regurarly. A mix of creative people and just regular locals hangs out there and the food was really good, traditional bavarian food.

One of the coziest original Bavarian restaurants in Munich. Already over 100 years old and very famous for its Knödels.

Ess Neun

If you feel like trying something innovative, Ess Neun is the place to go. It is located near the Gärtnerplatz, a lively neighborhood of alternative, start-up and gay folk. The interior is designed in a clean and puristic fashion. Philosophy of the cuisine is combining known and unknown tastes to a new experience. This doesn’t always work well for everyone; some people think e.g. a combination of chocolate, flowers and steak is strange. But usually you will find that the menu is quite harmonious and presents fusion cooking at its best. The wine list is well worth your consideration. Cozy little place to dine delicious Italian food. Also to take away. The pizza is awesome.

Alter Ofen (pub)

nice little german pub in sendling not far from schellingstraße.

they have typical german food, the schnitzel looked good (i didn't eat it but a friend did) and they have good hefeweizen on tap. also italian porno comics as wallpaper in the bathroom. genius,

zoozies (pub+)

large-ish pub right on the isar in giesing not far from deutsches museum. nice selection of typical german pub food including fresh sandwiches. they're accomodating for vegetarians.

Best lunch tip for a budget

Kirschblüte: small cute Vietnamese-German Café, great Vietnamese soups, spring rolls etc.

Very good Italian food, especially the special menü is worth eating.

Don't go there! The food and the drinks are horrible but of course quite expensive.

This is a afghan restaurant with just delicious dishes. It's a real treat for you if you like or want to try oriental cuisine. Reservation is recommended, as there are only a few tables.

This place has unbelievably good food. The best thing I've had is the Tar Tar, but the salads and soups are awesome, too.
