If you're nervous and want some familiarity, go to McDonalds - no one speaks English, but you can point to the menu and it basically works the same in Germany as elsewhere.

I'd suggest some Mexican food at Pura Vida. The staff speaks English to varying degrees, and Tasso (one of the waiters) is exceptionally awesome.
