Malte replied over 3 years agoDrop in for a coffee at Black Delight. This tiny coffeebar serves one of the best espressi in Hamburg. Cozy place with lots of attention to detail, down to the smooth jazz sounds played from a tape recorder.

Axel Bruns replied over 2 years agoBeautiful little place on the northwestern end of the university quarter, close to the subway and the Grindelhof restaurant and shopping district. A late 1800s home for nurses, done up as a B&B (i.e. three shared bathrooms on the same floor as the rooms), with great breakfast and a spacious balcony overlooking a park - with music drifting over from the nearby jazz cafe thrown in for free. Free wireless (ask for password), but TVs not necessarily in all rooms - I had the smallest one which didn't at first (but was offered one without having to ask). Some more rooms in the building next door, I think.

Louise Waring replied over 2 years agoI visited this hotel last year with my family when I was there in Hamburg. The ambience was fantastic and the service was very good. We enjoyed there pomme frittes which were cooked to perfection.

Ronald van Asselt replied over 2 years agoI personaly think Hamburg is a beautiful city. The East Hotel is a fantastic designhotel where there is an amazing restaurant. This restaurant is located on -1 level. From there you can look up to the next 2 or 3 levels. The restaurant, and also the hotelreception, become part of the loungebar/club the place turns into at night. There is an magnificant atmosphere with a different feel. Typical loungebar at level 1, level 2 a bit more laidback where you sit down together at and with others.
The rooms are unique to say the least. The bed sits in the middle of the room, behind that an 'island' with the minibar and sink. Bed and island are seperated with a curtain. Glass, no seethrough, doors enclose the toilet, shower and closet. It ain't cheap but an absolute great hotel/club/loungebar.
