    Breakfast at Die Herren Simpel

Very nice little bar / café with lots of cozy places to sit and share a coffee, a beer or a cocktail. The breakfast ist great, with fine cheesy, fruits and lovely little rolls and croissants. Also a good place if you're looking for a quiet evening.

    Golden – Chinese Restaurant

Best chinese food in town. Mr. Wong keeps two menus – one with ordinary european style chinese food and one with the good, original stuff. Be sure to get his special recommendation, too.

    Night fries at Kleine Pause

If you're heading back home from an exhausting night around St. Pauli, Schanze or Reeperbahn make sure you stop by Kleine Pause. They serve some of the best fries in Hamburg, 24 hours a day. Always crowded, always playing a selection of early nineties eurodance, always an experience.

Tide in Ottensen - by far the best coffee bar in Hamburg.

Make sure you do not miss a relaxed coffee or tea at Tide: Fantastic coffee, friendly staff, good food. This is a place where you will feel at home instantly.

Opens 8:00 am, closed on Sundays.

    Breakfast at Kaffee Stark.

Cozy and nice little Café in the heart of St. Pauli. Homemade marmelades, they have a great cheese breakfast, the best scrambled egss you can have and lovely staff. Just four or five steps upstairs from the bar they have a comfy area with sofas. Great place for a laid-back start into the day.

    Lunch at Fillet of Soul.

My most favourite restaurant in Hamburg. Open kitchen and very minimalist but comfy interieor. Incredible creative and delicious cuisine. Especially for lunch no place in Hamburg can beat their prices. You get a fantastic dish for around 7 Euros. Changing menus every day. Small but great selection of wines. And the best chocolate dessert in town. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays 11 am to 12 pm, Sundays 11 am to 6 pm.

    Dinner at Cento Lire.

A big, bright cozy room and Antonio himself make the Cento Lire a great place for the evening. The food is perfect and you won't have to wait long. You can just sit down and enjoy the great interior and their delicious cucina. Furthermore it is one of the few Italian places where they serve you Peroni, the true Italian beer.

Filet of soul - Awful over priced restaurant. A rude waitress who thinks she's helpful and a chef who racially insulted us in his mother tongue thinking we wouldn’t understand him. They cleared the table before we'd finished eating as well, saying it was policy. Oh - and we had to move as the corner we were in was infested with flies. Avoid.

Great atmosphere, nice food, good prices. They usually offer a glass of bubbly to start and a digestive to end your meal. Quite loud place but you are always greeted by a friendly "buona sera".

My wife used to go here for decent burgers when she was a student in Hamburg. Rarely do I eat red meat but when I do, I go to the Block House in Hamburg or Munich.

    Great place.
