Located in the „hafencity“, it offers a great view of the harbour, beside its tasty modern french-style food. For lunch you get a menu with good value for money. The two course „Plat du jour“ is about 14,50 €, the three course „Plat du jour“ is about 19,- €, both water fee included.

I like the "Vapiano". It is a nice Italian restaurant for pizza, pasta and salad. You queue for food and see the cook preparing your meal in front of you. Nice atmosphere, fancy people. The pasta dishes cost between 6 and 9 euros. I know two of them: at Hohe Bleichen 10 (down town) and at Rothembaumchaussee 76 (close to the Alster lake).

At the Karoecke in the so-called "Karoviertel", on weekdays you get a lunch special for about 5-7 € - quality ingredients, quite diverse and interesting recipes ranging from Wiener Schnitzel to fish in different varities to Indian flavours. On sunday afternoons, there's the "Brunch's not dead" event with different cooking styles and DJs.

Separate smoking room, very cosy and slightly underground in a very likeable manner.

"Schweinske" e.g. at the Michaelishof (near Rödingsmarkt, 10 minutes by feet from Rathausmarkt) and in "Hauptbahnhof" (Central Station) . It is a company of "Mövenpick" and has several good and cheap Restaurants in town. Many but not only meals with pork ("Schwein" = "Pork"). http://www.schweinske.de/cms/upload/pdf/AH-Adressenseite06.-09pdf.pdf
