    Airport hotel...

The Ibis Frankfurt Airport Hotel is nice enough if you're looking to stay somewhere when passing through or moving on from Frankfurt. Decent service and a free airport shuttle.

    East city hotel

The Golden Leaf Hotel is nice if you're having meetings IN the city or in the east of Frankfurt. NOT good for airport stop over trips (too far opposite airport). Decent service and modest price WiFi in rooms.

This tip has the address "East of downtown"

I recommend the Lindner Hotel Mainplaza. It's situated directly at the Main river and features large rooms. The building was supposed to offer full serviced apartments and is now a hotel - hence the large room sizes. Ask for a room on a top floor facing downtown and you will enjoy one of the greatest views of the city. Going for a morning run along the river is a perfect start, or go for a swim in the small but very nice Spa. The Biancalani Bar is a great alternative to the hotel bar. Simply walk across the place towards the spring and you will see it. Dinner at the traditional Frankfurt Restaurants in Sachsenhausen is also just a 10 minutes walk. I booked many business partners and friends into this hotel and they all loved it.

A sweet, central and exquisite hotel is the Villa Orange in Frankfurt Nordend Rooms are 100 Euro up, but a very nice to stay in Frankfurt. On Friday there is a popular market around the corner with great food and fine wine from the close Rhine region.

Motel One offers stylish rooms and good breakfast for cheap prices (starting at less than 60€/night).

There are three Motel Ones in Frankfurt. I stayed on Hanauer Landstrasse, which looks like an abandoned industrial area but is actually a hot spot of restaurants, clubs, and design shops. Tram 11 stops in front of the hotel and takes you to the central railway station in 15 minutes. The hotel has wi-fi in all rooms, but it's only free in the lobby - which results in the lobby being crowded with hip travellers lounging on the comfy sofas with their MacBooks.

They've seduced me with a pretty cool website, but the hostel itself is not that cool. Good: location, right next to the main train station; pretty nice common room with balconies and cute girls at the reception. Bad: super noizy! the public leaves much more to be a desire - loads of deadly drunk tenagers; dirty!

Very stylish design hostel (you have to see the showers!) with cool public (not too young and arty kind of appearance), nice personnel and proper music. The disadvantages are the legalized drug selling place next to it (lots of junkies wandering around) and a bit higher price, but I totally recommend to stand them.

Hotel has two wings. An older one and a newer so called "Business Wing". Best Rooms are the Executive Rooms on 7th and 8th floor in the Business Wing. Suites are only available in the old wing which could need some refurbishment.

This is the coolest hotel I have seen in my 10 years of European Frequent Traveller. You will feel exclusive, at home, individual and cool all at the same time. Dinner and brekkie are amazing also.

A surprisingly cool design hotel, with themed rooms and a delightful restaurant / bar. Made an ordinary business trip a little out of the ordinary...

I lived there for almost one year, while working in Frankfurt. The staff was great, responsive and could really help me when needed. That was one of the best hotel team I visited in Europe.

Lufthansa has an agreement with the hotel and booked me here after a delayed flight to Munich. I'm fairly low maintenance about these things but the rooms and food were simply a crime; even for a free stay. Would have rather slept in the business class lounge.

This is a quite new location near the central station. Advantage is that it is not near the red light district - other hostels have these problems. And it offers group rates. Frankfurt Hostel: http://www.stay-frankfurt.com
