avoid sushi and italian food while in Prague

what the heck was i thinking going for a sushi lunch here? it was ridiculously expensive relatively to the food prices in Prague, not very good, and overall dissapointing. I would have been way better off getting gulash. As for Italian, somehow I or my travelling companions always get sick from pasta in Prague. avoid avoid avoid. stick w the yummy local treats

    cafe savoy

for me, no trip to prague is ever complete without a meal at cafe savoy. the ambiance, romantic old world atmosphere, great service and delicious delicious food is what keeps me coming back everytime. Their desserts are also to die for. Great wine list, and there is an option of a gourmet menu, which is a bit pricier but absolutely incredible. But if you are on a budget sticking to the regular menu always satisfies.

Incredible Cappuccino froth at Coffee Heaven near Mustek

Can the coffee of a chain coffee shop be good? Oh yes! Forget about Starbucks and go to Coffee Heaven on the corner between "Na mustku" and "Provaznicka" and order a cappuccino. The froth is as creamy as it gets. To enjoy the coffee in peace go upstairs, the additional space there is almost always empty. Only thing missing is WiFi...

    Great micro brewery pub/restaurant

Pivovarský dům serves up their own beer and anything beer related. Pale, dark and mixed all went down well. I didn't get round to trying the banana, coffee, cherry, etc. flavoured nor the beer champagne and brandy

They serve only one beer at U Fleků (Křemencova 11, Praha 1), but it was the best beer I tasted on my tour through the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Second to that was the beer at Pivovar Novoměstský (Vodičkova 20, Praha 1), which had better food. However, the beauty of U Fleků is that they keep bringing you fresh mugs of beer and ice-cold shots of Becherovka all night, so the food, while tasty, is not the main focus of your time there. Bring friends with you, or make new ones. Regardless, you will have a good time.

Great food. First time I went I enjoyed every bite. Good wines to accompany the food. Second time I went it wasn't quite as good.

They occasionally have problems processing credit cards. On one occasion they told me my bank had refused the transaction - I called the bank the next day and they told me the transaction had not even been initiated. Other than this, I cannot complain.

Kolkovna was one of our first restaurants to boast the title Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurant. The unique atmosphere of this place is accentuated by its history. The restaurant was created by an extensive, and architectonically demanding conversion from a former printing office for ‘fee stamping’ from the 1820’s. The Kolkovna Restaurant is based on a combination of the tradition and uniqueness of the Pilsner Urquell brand and Czech cuisine fused with modern gastronomy. The Restaurant can be found in Kolkovna 8, Prague 1. It is only a stone throw’s away from the Pařížská Street and the Old Town Square. It is open every day from 11:00 to 24:00.

Beyond doubt, this hotel has the finest roof terrace of Prague. Overlooking the Old Time Square. Perfect for summer evenings.

Nice food, good prices and huge portions (too much for me) the atmosphere was a bit sparse but this was probably due to time of day (4pm Saturday afternoon) the restaurant is huge and I think is part of a chain in Prague.

This used to be called Central Park but has recently changed hands.

Recently had the battered burger with mash potato - exactly what was required on a cold winter's day. Salads are good too.

Been there again recently. The waiter didn't write down the order so didn't bring the wine we ordered with the main course. He then brought two glasses instead of the bottle we ordered. So main course is served and no wine. Then at the end of the meal he asked us if we wanted to give a tip - he was informed that this it is rude to ask.

The food is good. Staff attitude not great.

Micro brewery & great place to eat, food is Czech but they do have menus in other languages. Did i mention the beer - everything from coffee to cherry flavoured beers and lots more in between, they come in halves, pints and 1/3's if you are trying a selection.

Great food, not all the staff speak english, but know enough to hand you an english menu. Czech food - good & dare I say cheap. The beer is also cheap. Very close to the tram stop, we found this by accident just wandering around.
