Vitaly Kolesnik replied over 3 years agoNové Hrady (New Castles in English) are located in the very south of Czech Republic, near the Austrian border and 36 km southeast of the regional centre České Budějovice.
The Nové Hrady Mountains are currently a tourist destination with preserved nature and evolving touristic services.
Nové Hrady are the perfefct starting point for discovering the Nové Hrady Mountains. On a relatively small area, you will find several significant historical and cultural landmarks including the Castle, the Buqoi Chateau with a beautiful park, church of St. Peter and Paul, monastery of the Divine Mercy, Buquoi tomb, forge, tannery, town hall, residence, city gate and remnants of the fortifications, a baroque pharmacy, romantic buildings of “Teresiino údolí” nature park, chapels, historical buildings and so on.
In the course of the year and especially during the summer tourist season, many cultural events, sports and club activities take place in the city and its surroundings.
All this is well worth a weekend visit or a longer stay, to relax or to be active, to discover or to be inspired.
