Ryan Pollack replied over 4 years agoThe Yu Yuan area -- Fangbang Lu near Henan Lu -- is great for gifts for people back home. They have lots of artwork, knicknacks, jewelry, tcotchkes, and so on. Bargain hard!!

Peter Davison replied over 4 years agoThis may already have been mentioned under a different name but I enjoy shopping at the South Bund Fabric Market. At least 3 floors of all sorts of different vendors to choose from for custom clothing designs. Best to get there in the earlier part of the morning before it gets too crazy!

Ignacio Garcia replied over 3 years agoI like very much the lanes at 210 Taikang Lu, a labyrinth of small alleys where you'll find good quality pottery and textiles by local artisans and designers, and great restaurants and cafes with terraces. Don't miss The Pottery Workshop, for unique hand made pottery and ceramics.
