Chandler Jurinka replied over 3 years agoIt was my first dinner in Beijing and I was a little apprehensive about what I would be eating, but starving and ready for an adventure. What a perfect introduction to Eastern cuisine. The servings are large, made without MSG and very tasty. The menu’s are in English as well as Chinese and the waiter’s speak at least enough English to understand what you’re asking for. With clean bathrooms and a polite staff that never leave you waiting for their attention, this relaxed environment was the basis of a very enjoyable evening. The location is beautiful – there is a deck that is surrounded by trees – a quiet atmosphere in the middle of a busy city. A great dinner out.

Nicolas Dierking replied over 3 years agoThere are tons of great restaurants in Beijing! One of my favourites is a Japanese place in Sanlitun area. It's a bit more expensive, but it's worth every RMB. Expect to spend around 150 RMB for a nice dinner.

If you want to go Chinese, I suggest going to "The Yunnan Restaurant".. It doesn't really have a name, but food is delicious and it's cheap. Find it on the opposite of Le little Saigon.

Have fun!

Kyle Chayka replied over 2 years agoThe best place to eat in Beijing is to check into your hotel or get to a friend's apartment, leave the building, turn onto the street, and head straight for the first street food cart or dumpling steamer you see. You will likely not go wrong, and if you do... it'll be a good travel story anyway.
