If it is a nice weekend rent a boat or go on a tourist boat and enjoy the lake and the amazing scenery of mountains and small places situated at the shores. You can also rent a bike and explore Ticino. There is always a large number of cyclists on the road, that's one of the things Switzerland is known for. Look for festivals too. I recommend the blues festival held every summer. It's spread on a number of stages on town squares. Lots of people come and it's great fun.
