Nicolas Nova replied over 4 years agoWhere Frankenstein has been written
Villa Diodati: Byron stayed here during the summer of 1816, writing and touring the lake region with Percy Bysshe Shelley and Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley. The idea for the novel Frankenstein came to Mary Shelley in a dream at the villa, after an evening of violent storms on the lake.

Isidro González replied over 4 years agoWalk (cycle or skate) by the lake
Just walk round the lake on a sunny day. See the Jet d'eau, watch the ships, people playing hockey or having a drink, go through the various gardens, and have a bath or a sauna (depending on the time of the year) by the Quai de Paquis

Nicolas Nova replied over 4 years ago"The smurfs"
very curious building assemblage called "Les Schtroumpfs" (The smurfs) in the "Les Grottes" area. Some sort of Gaudy-like architecture built in 1982-1984.
As they say "you will feel as though you have walked into a Smurfs cartoon strip and will be surrounded by the little blue men"

My wife and I ate last night at Vertigo (only open Monday-Friday) in the Hotel de la Paix on the lake in Geneva. The food and atmosphere is trendy and superb. It's expensive but food/wine is creative and wonderful. Great chef. Sit at one of the higher tables for fun...
