Callahan Valley - Stunning Olympic Nordic Venue

If you are a cross country skier or ever wanted to try for a lark the facility for the Olympic nordic events is stunning. Miles off the highway in a secluded undeveloped valley, it's an easy a peaceful respite. To access turn off highway 99 about 15-20 miles south of Whistler.

One of the many beautiful lakes in the Whistler Valley, Alta lake is easily accessible by car, bike or on foot. The Valley bike trail brings you to Rainbow Park, a lovely spot for a picnic or a swim.

Rent a canoe or kayak and float down the River of Golden Dreams- one of the most peaceful and idyllic ways to get closer to nature in this busy valley.

The most beautiful swimming lake in Whistler.

Deservedly popular in the Summer months, this is the most beautiful spot to cool off with a swim in the turquoise water after a hot day of mountain biking/ trail hiking/ zip lining or just generally enjoying Whistler.

On one end of the small lake there is a grassy park area with a sandy beach ideal for young families. This is also where the washroom/changing room facilities can be found, as well as a small snack bar. Trails lead around the lake to more secluded spots. On the water there are several wooden rafts for sunbathing.

Warning: There are no lifeguards on duty, so swim at your own risk. There is also no parking anywhere in the park, so take the (free) bus service from anywhere in Blackcomb, or ride your bike!

A bona fide thrillride - several zplines (longest 2200ft), in fact - all clustered in Whistler's exquisite back country. Leaving a delicate footprint upon the forest with sustainable principles as their ethos, bubbly guides help acquaint you with the rainforest wildlife, but have enough technical training to make sure all your screams are safe ones. Charming A-frame chalet at trek's end can host private parties. And if hurtling between mountains on a wire isn't exciting enough, you can also do it after dark.
