Excellent, Excellent & Excellent! Mediterranean cuisine at its best! Start with the Porcini and chestnut soup with vanilla chantilly, go for Pappardelle with 4-hour-braised veal cheeks & porcini mushrooms and finish up with Limoncello cheese-cake, citrus-vanilla confiture, aged Balsamico caramel, mascarpone-citrus sorbet. The wine list is quite impressive (mmm that Barbosa was sooo tasty). Service was also one of the highlights; I revisited them on my last night and to my surprise they remembered my preferences and order made a couple of days before.

Having visited Cioppino's twice within a single trip, I can do nothing else but highly recommend it. If you visit Vancouver it's a must!

PS it was only after my departure that I discovered, Pino Posteraro was named "Chef of the year" for 2008 in Vancouver

Start with the Mediterranean Squid, go on with the Pacific Sablefish and wrap up with the Lemon Posse. Awesome! Service includes lots of happy smiley faces!

I can't speak for the downtown location, but the Richmond location of Kirin has very good dim sum.

Terrific collection of NW First Nations art, especially Haida art, in a building built especially to house large sculptures (what I guess commonly would be called "totem poles" in less sensitive parlance) from First Nations on the BC coast. Also on display are about 15,000 items from the university's collection of artifacts from around the world. Outside is a reconstructed Haida village. It's a great collection, in a lovely setting above the water about as far west as you can get in Vancouver.

Great view of English Bay if a bit pricey for what it is.

Unlike the Capilano Suspension Bridge, the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge is FREE! The hiking trails are perhaps less dramatic than Capilano, but I'd almost say more scenic. Definitely a wilder, more natural setting than Capilano

Vij's does amazing contemporary Indian food - we always eat there when visiting Vancouver. No reservations so you may have to sit outside for a little while, but you'll probably be attended to by Vij himself, which is nice.

There menu is absolutely amazing - ultimately the best place to eat in Vancouver with sustainable values by far. Their food and wine pairing are exceptional and their local, seasonal, and 100-mile diet menus are remarkably delicious. The service staff are very knowledgeable and a delight to interact with (our biggest tip that we have ever given was at this restaurant).

Good inexpensive Thai food. There is something about this place that does it right.

It's the first place I went to get food after a long trip and I was really tired - not having slept for a few hours. The place is nice an cozy I would say and they even dimmed the lights at some point. Haven't I been tired I would have appreciated. I took a 1/2 chicken with veggies of the day. It seems like getting the chicken took ages - but when it was finally there , it was cooked perfectly and was really tasty. Veggies where good too. The price might be an issue as $40 (canadian) for a 1/2 chicken is a Think a lot.

A very nice place to stay. Breakfast was good. Internet connections in the rooms was bad and flacky but still useful (but not at that price)
