I enjoyed my recent stay at the Sutton Place Hotel on Burrard. The service was fantastic -- a staff member even drove me to the airport in the snow due to the lack of available taxis.

I've not stayed at the Sylvia, but I've been there for a drink. And Douglas Coupland goes there for a drink on a regular basis, so it must be good.

Having recently been in Vancouver for a long vacation, I decided to rent a furnished vacation condo / service apartment. It beats living in a boring hotel room. I was referred by a friend to Vancouver West Living and stayed at their furnished condo in Downtown Vancouver. The condo I stayed in had everything possible. It comes fully furnished with modern furniture, has a nice waterfront view and awesome amenities (pool, gym) in the same building.

The booking process was easy and the property manager I dealt with was very friendly and suggested to many options for sightseeing, dining and entertainment.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with my choice and would definitely looking into booking vacation rentals for my next vacation.
