Greg Ipp replied over 5 years agoFavorite bar for a beer: Sweaty Betty's
Looking for a great bar to hang out at when you're in Toronto? Stop by Sweaty Betty's on Ossington, just north of Queen Street. This tiny bar can get pretty busy, and is always home to a dedicated group of locals. Excellent staff, and a friendly atmosphere. Fun jukebox. Occasional mid-week DJs.

Simon Law replied over 5 years agoBest Coffee downtown
i deal coffee has some of the best coffee I've tasted in Toronto. They pull shots out of an old manual press and you're crowded around the bar trying to place an order. Drink your espresso and then dash out.

Tokyo Sushi House - really good japanese food in this tiny sushi bar in Toronto. Super fast takeout service on weekdays which is impressive as they are making the sushi in front of you. I found it cheap particularly compared to London prices.

Greg Ipp replied over 4 years agoBest soup bar
Bar a Soupe - 164 Ossington Avenue
Soups change daily, with weekly seasonal menus. Tiny shop, with a wonderful French touch to the cooking. The Mexican black bean and chocolate was a favorite, but you really can't go wrong at this place.

Although surrounded by Korean restos, Tacos El Asador is worth crowding into its small space for a picnic table to consume tacos and guacamole. Definitely off the beaten path. Located at the northeast corner of Clinton Street and Bloor St. West, one block east of Christie subway station.
