Jukka Hentila replied over 2 years agoApartamentos Tamboleiro. Apartments next to Pelourinho at Ladeiras do Carmo. You will wake up with the sound of drums (I loved it) and will be in the middle of happenings.

Lisa Moretti replied over 2 years agoThe best place to stay in Salvador is the area between Pelourinho and Rio Vernelho, including Barra and Ondina. The most interesting attractions and the best restaurants and nightlife are in situated in that area. In the webiste www.salvador-bahia.tur.br there are a lot of good hotel options, with pictures, informations and it's possible to do online reservations.

Jukka Hentila replied over 2 years agoCubana, up from Praca de Pelourinho, ice cream bar and hamburger restaurant. Hamburgers are better than in international chains, much cheaper and served with fresh pressed orange juice. You can choose also from different juices. Soup only 3 reals during week at dinner time.

Juha Paltila replied over 2 years agoDepending where you stay ?! But here comes few hints for each part of the city:
Pelourinho (Historical Center): Dinha (typical bahian food) Barra: Barravento , superb view to the ocean and the beach or much cheaper and better Carangeju do Sergipe other side of the road. Rio Vermelho: Hundres of choices... Cool and Inexpensive and very local: Mercusul da Gama Fogo do Chao Churrascaria, good and expensive Brazilian Meat House...
