Jari Niemi replied over 2 years agoVodenitzata (Watermill) is one of the best Bulgarian restaurants nearby Sofia. It is situated on the slopes of Vitosha mountain, in the village of Dragalevtsi. It takes about 30 min by taxi from Sofia center, but certainly is worth it. Every single taxi driver knows this restaurant by name, so getting there is not a proble. Excellent place, excellent food, nice interior and every evening there is some program (mainly Bulgarian dances). Please note, that table reservation is a must!

Jari Niemi replied over 2 years agoFantastic small, but very cozy Italian restaurant in the center of Sofia. Visiting here is always some kind of an adventure if you don´t speak either Bulgarian or Italian as they do not speak English, but anyway I have always managed to get there fantastic tasty food with very reasonable price. And no matter there is language barrier, the service is very good.

Jari Niemi replied over 2 years agoNice restaurant offering not only Bulgarian food, but also nice, fresh Mediterranean fish. BBQ is their specialty, even their fireplace made of stone weights 15 tons.
It is situated in Lozenets area, some 4-5 km out of Sofia city center.

Jari Niemi replied over 2 years agoOne of the best restaurants in Sofia I've ever been and I've been in many. Very high service level, something what you haven't get used to in Sofia and in Bulgaria in general. Quality food and good wine selection. And what's best, prices are not top end (means it is expensive restaurant, but I've seen more higher prices in places, which are not in the same level of quality). Worth every stotinki. Recommended. Last but not least: they have very efficient air circulation in the restaurant which means that you do not have to suffer smoke caused by the smokers, which Bulgaria is full of.
