Axel Beckert replied over 3 years agoAbout Hotel Astrid:
Have been in better hotels for better prices in Brussels, e.g. NH Hotels or Argus Hotel. Not bad though. Has been said to have been better in the past.
Negative points:
Only one key per room, even for double rooms.
They don't accept Maestro cards.
No big choice at breakfast and not the best breakfast either. Some friends claimed that's not an American Breakfast as they advertised in the elevators.
Only time based and expensive internet access from AeroWisp.
No power sockets near the bed. Which is bad if you want to charge your mobile phone and use it as alarm clock, too.
Positive points:
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Has its own parking garage, even though its very difficult to drive through the gate with bigger cars (e.g. Citroën C5). Smaller cars (e.g. Mercedes-Benz A Class) fit way better through the gate.
Bathtubs in the rooms (well, at least in our room :-), not only showers.
Breakfast until 10, checkout until 11. Yay!
Direct bus connection to FOSDEM
Close to Delirium Cafe and the city centre.
