In the CBD (central business district) of Sydney many large office buildings have food courts that offer tasty, fresh food on a budget.

And if you want it really cheap, again in the CBD food courts, between 5:30pm and 6pm you can get a box of Asian food for $4-$5 at the Centerpoint food court. Thursday evenings give you a bit more time and choice though. Same time, at the Queen Victoria Galleries downstairs food court, you can get a big slice of pizza for $3.5.

Hunter St in the CBD has a food court with good, cheap Asian food. Down at Bondi, they have salads etc along the esplanade that are quite reasonable.

You can't go past heading down to Bondi beach! Speedos at the north end on Hastings St... great coffee, good food! Or if you don't live locally, you can go upstairs at the North Bondi RSL club - cheap food, good quality - views of Bondi beach to die for!
