Not as good as i expected. Room was tiny, Circa restaurant downstairs came highly recommended but was v disappointing.

But location is great. 2 minutes from the sea and decent bars nearby.

Fairly bland but comfortable, and in an absolutely excellent location (between Swanston and Elizabeth).

Second the nunnery recommendation, especially the guesthouse which is a good alternative to a hotel. in a location that's close to the inner city suburb of Fitzroy (an area good for cafes, vintage clothings, records and books, live music and awesome pubs and bars).

Better than the Park Hyatt, which badly needs renovations. Cafe in foyer is okay if you want to eat in the hotel.

Okay, but you can do better for value. So-so staff.

Tired and in need of a makeover. Try the Grand Hyatt.

As far as backpackers go, this place is pretty great. Very quirky vibe and located right in the heart of Fitzroy.

The loft apartments are beautiful and would make a longer stay a dream. Quality furnishings and a good location. Beautiful old treasury building with character.
