If you like Japanese food there's Ganbaranba (www.ganbaranba.com) located on Spencer street. Food price averages from $3.60 - $12. Primarily serves ramen (noodle) soups. There are plenty of food courts about mostly serving asian food (including indian takeaways) I suppose and there's also the Cairns Night Market area too. Plenty of places to eat along the Esplanade as well.

A great place with coffee, chocolate, liquer and a cafe. For $19 you get to taste 21 flavours of coffee, 3 liquers and 12 chocolates - as much as you like for as long as you like!!

Plus they have an interesting (one of the largest ever) collection of coffee artifacts. And it all tastes great!
