    Hollmann Beletage

Exquisite boutique hotel in the old part of town - central, easy access to Metro. Best hotel breakfasts I've ever had!

    Avoid Hotel Mercure Fleischmarket

Not a great choice. The immediate neighborhood is filled with nightlife and bars. The late night hours can be filled with sounds of people screaming at the top of their lungs. That is especially a problem on warm evenings, because the rooms apparently don't have air conditioning (I went in August).

This tip has the address "Inner City, North of St. Stephen's by a few blocks."

i liked the wombats (http://www.wombats-hostels.com/vienna/) but since i life in vienna i never stayed there but enjoyed the bar many times. as far as i've heard also the rooms are nice and worth the money (the dorm is about 17 euro which isn't that cheap). enjoy your time in vienna!

i stayed in Falkensteiner Hotel(Schotenfeldgasse 74).The reason why i chose it was the presence of Fitness room but regretfully i had no opportunity to use it. It was opened from 10 o'clock and it was late for me.The hotel has sauna as well. I'm not sure if the wellness area is free but there were no information about its costs.I supposed to have free W-LAN in hall(hrs.de was saying it) but there was only ONE! terminal in foyer and for the Internet in the room you have to pay. To Rathaus it is 20 minutes by feet and 30 minutes by public transport. Te room was very good and comfortable. You have a big variety of food for breakfast especially i like the possibility to make fresh orange juice.

Pension Baronesse is a lovely place not far from the center -close to the Univertität Campus-.

It's CHEAP, the rooms are nice, the service is supreme, the breakfast is WONDERFUL.

Hotel Bristol on Kärntner Ring 1, opposite the Opera House is a must place to stay. Its luxury at its best, taking in the old Austrian history.

Be sure to ask for Wolfgang, Front Desk Manager. He is a pleasure to deal with. (update: speak to isabella)

Not a great hotel. Loud ambience, rooms not great, and trying too hard to be trendy

As with many places in Austria, they do not take credit cards which was a bit of an inconvenience for me. English is not widely spoken by the staff in the hotel so I had trouble getting a receipt (my problem for not learning enough German).

However the rooms are nice and the people there are pleasant. The restaurant seemed full every night so they are doing something right.

A good place to stay in Vienna. Not far from the city centre, just 2 stations on tube (U-bahn). Friendly staff, clean and big rooms.

Very convenient location just 15 min walk from Vest train station, in walking distance from the city centre. Clean and nice, good breakfast, but stuff a little bit slow. Poor TV in the room, cleaning stuff didn't check toilet paper. Definitely 3 stars not 4, but OK choice for a family trip.
