For casual hotel accomodation in downtown look for Hotel Engl. Close to the center, clean, well priced with decent breakfast.

Great place directly at the river in walking distance to the city center and directly at the train station into the mountains.

Directly in the city center

It's a nice hotel with an unbeatable central position directly in the heart of Innsbruck. The rooms are ok and there is a small wellness area with a very small pool (about 5x5 meter) and some fitness machines. However, you notice that the hotel is not as new as others in the area. Therefore, I will book Austria Trend next time, which is much more modern and also not too far from the city center.
