  I enjoyed staying @ El Firulete Hostel but since it's downtown it's a bit noisy, even at night. You'll spend around $10/night, which won't get you A/C in any room. Avoid rooms without windows in summer time, they are known as "inferno de la noche". There's a pretty nice bar with pool table in the lobby. I thought it was ok for the price.
