I agree, Tigre is a great way to espace Buenos Aires for the day. I went on a bike and kayak tour there (with http://en.urbanbiking.com) last year and had a great time. Definitely an activity worth considering.

True, Tigre is a good option. And there are some nice restaurants and pubs near there if you want to have dinner or a drink at night. But watch out, some parts of the neighbourhood are insecure at those hours.
