    Restaurants

Olsen and Oui Oui are good options for brunch. La Dorita is good for meat, also Las Lilas, Mirasol and Happening. Spanish food Oviedo stands out, pricey but good. Asian with a Peruvian touch, go for Osaka. Ribs in Kansas. Any doubts check www.guiaoleo.com.ar

A nice way to spend an afternoon is at the preserve on Puerto Madera. Rent some bicycles and ride around the shoreline. Have a steaksand from one the roadside stands off the shoreline. A nice change from the hustle and noise of the city.

Take care in San Telmo. It's mostly a trap for tourists. Nice market full of c*ap, pickpockets, loads of ppl. If you're looking for craftmanship and stuff like that, have a look in plaza Serrano and plaza Armenia, in Palermo. Those places are less touristic and more real - even if the tourism is growing.

Looking for a musical way to spend a Monday night in Buenos Aires? Sure, you can always find some milonga around town to dance some tango, but maybe you’ve already done that…or maybe you’re looking for something a little less cliché.

La Bomba del Tiempo (the time bomb) is a percussion group with around 17 members under the direction of Santiago Vazquez. They are pretty well-known in Buenos Aires and since their founding in 2006, they get together every week at the Ciudad Cultural Konex in Sarmiento and just jam. If it’s nice out, I believe they play outside, but if its rainy, they play inside the main building, a big warehouse-type place inside the complex, which really helps with acoustics.

The Feria de Mataderos is the real deal.

There are other basic Sunday markets in the Buenos Aires neighborhoods of Recoleta, La Boca, and San Telmo where you can get cool jewelry, handcrafts, paintings and caricatures, etc. But the Feria de Mataderos is a real experience and worth the 45-minute bus trip from the center. Colectivo 55 and 92 take you the closest – definitely invest the few pesos it costs to buy a Guia T bus guide to help you out, and ask someone at a kiosk for help/directions. Also see link to taking a public bus below.

Here you can find a collection of rugs made by hand in pure virgin wool and carefully hand finished. They have exquisite designs and colors, the showroom is amazing and to explore the quality of the materials they use.
