Reasonable number of free wifi cafes and the like which usually have a sign up in the window. You'll certainly find some on plaza serrano and in the various restaurants and cafes near there.

In Starbucks in Ramblas. You got a real 8 Mb connection that works as fast as you can imagine. On the other hand, you can connect from any Fon Spot, for example, home! :)

I've just arrived from Buenos Aires and I saw that most of cafes and restaurants have free WIFI connection. I've been in San Telmo neighborhood and it's not different there.

There are lots of places, but I found that the foodhall in Gallerias Pacifico was convenient.

Mostly in every Café in Buenos Aires there's free wifi. Low on batt? In some of them, you can also plug your notebook to electric outlets (for free and located close to the tables!). Gas or petrol stations with cafereterias usually provide free wifi access as well.
