Manar Hussain replied over 3 years agoThere are decent back-packer type places, but if you have a fair budget and are staying for at least a week then skip the hotels and rent a flat in Palermo. The best place to do so seemed (experience from 2005-2008) to consistently be: http://www.bytargentina.com/

Pelle Braendgaard replied over 3 years agoThe hotels as a whole don't seem to be very good value in BA. I agree renting a flat is the best deal. We used this agency, who even rent them by the day:

Great value and great service. I also recommend Recoletta and Palermo as being the best areas. Downtown isn't really all that interesting.

Tim Breidigan replied over 3 years agoRent a luxury apartment in Palermo Soho or Recoleta . It is a little bit of a pain to pay in cash, etc, but well worth it. http://www.apartmentsba.com/system/PS9-p535/

julian gershwin replied over 2 years agoFor a cheap place stay at the Pangea Hostel in entre rios. perhaps the best hostel i have ever stayed at in my entire life. http://www.pangeahostel.com.ar/home_eng.htm The Entre Rios train station is right at their front door. They are not affiliated with Hosteling International. Down with HI!

Caio Iglesias replied over 2 years agoI enjoyed staying @ El Firulete Hostel but since it's downtown it's a bit noisy, even at night. You'll spend around $10/night, which won't get you A/C in any room. Avoid rooms without windows in summer time, they are known as "inferno de la noche". There's a pretty nice bar with pool table in the lobby. I thought it was ok for the price.

Peter Thumbs replied over 2 years agoHello! A few months ago my girlfriend went to Buenos Aires and rented an apartment in Palermo, near Cordoba Avenue. She was very satisfied with the attention and service of Baires Apartments, a company that specializes in Buenos Aires Apartments rentals. Take a look!
Cheers,
Peter.

Margaux Caffa replied over 2 years agoI stayed at Hotel Nuss (http://www.nusshotel.com) in Palermo Soho a couple months ago with my husband. Very nice place - it used to be a convent, so there is some interesting history behind the boutique hotel. Rooms are very modern, food was great and the staff was helpful.

Allison Zunder replied about 1 year agoThe first time I came to Buenos Aires, I stayed in Soho All Suites, in Palermo Soho. It was very nice, but I think I liked it so much because it was like a little apartment. So the next time I was in Buenos Aires, a year later I rented an apartment with Oasis - www.oasisba.com - which was cheaper than the hotel and had more style. I really enjoyed my own apartment, as is evident that I now live here :)
